Beyond the salon chair, Akia’s vision reaches far wider. She is the visionary founder of the Black Excellence Ball & Banquet, an event created to celebrate, honor, and uplift individuals who have often been overlooked or undervalued. With elegance and intentionality, the event shines a light on excellence within the community, reminding attendees that greatness deserves recognition. Her commitment to service is further reflected through the Excellence Community Give Back. Akia ensures that youth are equipped for success by providing school supplies, backpacks, scholarships, and gift cards—practical tools that help set the stage for an impactful academic year. Her work is rooted in the belief that when children are supported early, the ripple effect can transform families and entire generations.

Akia’s passion for purpose-driven living also led her to establish Women Walking in Purpose Outreach Ministry.
